Superstar Sir Elton John rocked Colchester with a sensational show.

The flamboyant award-winning musician delighted the 16,000 fans who filled the Weston Homes Community Stadium last night.

The crowd rose as one as he opened the show and sang favourites including Benny and the Jets, Candle in the Wind and I'm Still Standing.

After Sunday's success, it is hoped more big names can be attracted to perform at the stadium.

I don't really understand about CUFCs involvement here.
They clearly organised car parking at £8 per car-and I assume the same parking will be available for football matches instead of the heavy handed no parking policing. How much profit did the Club make?
Has the cost of the Media Dept involvement been separated from normal Club expenses?
If they have found a lucrative method to subsidise the first division Club then we should celebrate! Have a concert every week!

I doubt many people who went to see Elton John really care about any of that!

There is no negative feedback.
When the Club is constantly saying its short of money-How much did they make?
OR How much did it cost?

I imagine it was in the hands of the Weston Homes Community Stadium Ltd of which CUFC are tenants.

Not sure if watching somebody sing is the same as worshipping them anyway, but seriously, this is 2014 now. In a world where millions have died ostensibly in the name of one deity or another, you still have an issue with two people being happy, because they happen to be of the same sex? In what way exactly are you or your family harmed by gay marriage? The world has moved on, time to do the same!

Sadly I think some people never will.

Trying to convince someone who thinks gay marriage is wrong because it said so in the bible is like arguing with a drunk - you never win.

Moral backbone? What, you mean like living your life by ideals founded thousands of years ago, in a time and place totally different than today, because someone tells you to? That's backbone, is it?

LOL!
