A pensioner has had her bag returned more than eight weeks after it was snatched by a thief.
Vivien Williams, 70, was tricked by a boy into opening her car door, which allowed him to steal her handbag.
The incident happened on November 2, in South Street, Manningtree, but Mrs Williams was amazed to have the item returned, after it was found dumped in Ardleigh.
Unfortunately, £110 had been stolen, although she recovered many personal mementos, which she feared she might never see again.
Mrs Williams, of Grange Road, Great Horkesley, said: "I have very mixed emotions. It's an awful feeling that somebody has gone through your personal things."
