Controversial plans to build a massive waste treatment site on people's doorsteps have come under fire from protesters.
Parish councillors last night agreed to object to the proposed factory at Stanway Hall Quarry.
Cory Environmental wants to build a garbage-guzzling facility at the site.
The plant will be able to dispose of 300,000 tonnes of waste a year from across north Essex.
Two other similar waste treatment facilities are also planned in the county.
But some environmental campaigners are opposed to the plans. They said kerbside recycling is the best way of preventing rubbish ending up in landfill sites and cheaper.
