THE next phase of plans to revamp Colchester Council's sheltered housing has been unveiled.
More than £3 million has been spent on improving sheltered housing accommodation in the borough including a major refurbishment of Worsnop House in Old Heath Road, Colchester.
Now the council has unveiled its next project - spending millions of pounds on upgrading Enoch House in Greenstead.
Tina Bourne, the council's portfolio holder for housing, said the 36 bedsits in the complex would be transformed into 36 flats each with their own bedroom, wet room, kitchen area and disabled access.
The council is currently half way its work on Worsnop House and plans to start work on Enoch House in March next year.
That project is expected to take about 15 months.
