A TEENAGER confessed to a friend he was responsible for stabbing Jay Whiston outside a house party, a court heard.
Edward Redman, 18, was at McDonald's in Colchester's High Street two weeks after the incident when he was asked about the attack, in Marlowe Way, Colchester.
A girl, 17, told Chelmsford Crown Court: "I asked him 'did you stab him' and he was like, 'Yeah, I did'.
"I asked: 'Why?' He was just like: 'I dunno. I was drunk, I was angry.'"
Redman denies murder.
