A BROKEN-down car was stolen from a parking bay in Colchester.

The black Ford Focus, with the registration V979 GPU, was taken from a private space in De Grey Road.

It happened between 7am on Wednesday January 29 and 7.40pm on Wednesday February 19.

PC Christopher Raynsford said: “This vehicle had broken down and had been legally taken off the road so was not currently taxed.

“Whoever stole it will have had to have used a trailer or some sort of towing system to take it.

“If anyone remembers seeing this car being removed or has any other information about the theft I would ask them to call me at Colchester Police Station on 101.”
