Plans for Rowhedge Wharf to be unveiled

Gazette: Plans for Rowhedge Wharf to be unveiled Plans for Rowhedge Wharf to be unveiled

PLANS are set to be submitted to build homes on a derelict site in a Colchester village.

Developer Bloor Homes has sent letters to Rowhedge residents, inviting them to an exhibition event, where it plans to unveil its plans to build a number of homes in the former Rowhedge Port.

Bloor Homes, which has not announced exactly how many homes it wants to build, will also outline its plans to build a new access road between Rectory Road and Rowhedge Wharf.

Martin Hughes, a spokesman for Bloor Homes, said the development will take some time because of the complex access issues.

He said: “The idea is to get the road application going before the substantive application, which deals with the homes and community facilities will be submitted.”

The leaflet was delivered to villagers on Wednesday.

The event, at Rowhedge Village Hall, in Rectory Road, will take place on Thursday, March 13 between 2pm and 7pm.

Representatives from Bloor Homes will be on hand to answer residents’ questions.

5 hours consultation on a work day for most people for a development of around 300 properties....or look at it another way 1 minute conultation per property. Not generous.
