A BOOKIES plans to open its first Colchester branch.

Paddy Power has submitted plans to open a shop in High Street in the former Pizza Hut. 

It would be open between 7am and 10pm.

Residents can comment on the plans, by emailing licensing.committee@colchester.gov.uk, by March 10.

Surely this has got to be a joke. Open 7am to 10pm. There is no justification to be open 17 hours a day. Should not be entertained under any curcumstances.

No justification I agree. It should 24 hours so I can bet on sporting events taking place around the globe in real time.
