DETAILED blueprints have been unveiled for Sainsbury’s third store in Colchester.
A health centre has been included in the “multi-million pound” scheme on the existing B&Q site in Lightship Way, the Hythe.
The plans were revealed firstly to business representatives and then to the general public this weekend.
A health centre, including an opticians, dental and hearing services, would be included in the 73,000 sq ft store.
It could be run separately by MEE Healthcare, a private company.
The store would go on the existing B&Q footprint with the creation of 450 jobs, of which 150 would be full-time.
There would be 548 car parking spaces and access to the site would remain where it is now but modified slightly.
Proposed opening times will generally be from 7am to 11pm and there will be eight to ten deliveries to the store per day, the meeting was told.
A planning application for the store will be submitted to Colchester Council in mid-March with a decision expected in the summer.
