BLUEPRINTS for a massive new Sainsbury’s supermarket in Colchester’s Hythe will be unveiled on Friday.

The proposals would see the B&Q store on Lightship Way transformed into a Sainsbury’s, creating 450 jobs.

The plans will be on display at the Colchester Centre in Hawkins Road on Friday from 4.30pm to 8.30pm and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

Sainsbury’s spokesman David Lazenby said: “We have had a long relationship with Colchester and hope to build a new store to the east side of the town so that we can continue serving future generations in the area.”
