Parents fight new school bus policy

PARENTS are fighting Essex County Council’s new bus pass policy.
Most secondary school children in Wivenhoe attend Colne Community School, in Brightlingsea, which is five miles away, and get free travel.
Under the council’s proposed new rules, they will only get free passes if they attend their nearest school, which is Colchester Academy, in Greenstead, four miles away.
