I am 42 and live, quite happily, on my own.

But I do work long hours, getting home late from my demanding job and often being so tired that I don’t bother to eat properly.

I do like a couple of drinks – sometimes more – when I get in too. I don’t get drunk, but I do sometimes wake up in the early hours to find I’ve fallen asleep in my chair and the radio or TV is still on.

I find it hard to unwind without a drink.

Should I stop drinking?

FIONA SAYS: YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR HABITS NOW If you feel the need to ask me, then you are drinking more than is good for you.

That doesn’t mean you’re heading towards being an alcoholic, but your regular drinking is unhealthy and you may need some guidance on managing it.

We've just had Alcohol Awareness Week, perhaps you heard or read something then which triggered your letter? Go to nhs.uk/change4life and click on “Choose Less Booze”. You’ll find a lot of really helpful information to help you assess your consumption.
