WE’RE TOO TIRED TO TALK

We’ve never really got any money and, as we’re working all hours to save, we’re tired most of the time and have no energy to talk – we just flop in front of the TV.

We’d planned to marry as soon as we can afford a deposit but the way things are, I’m not sure how I feel any more. CP

FIONA SAYS: EVEN TEN MINUTES A DAY CAN HELP I’m not surprised. If you carry on as you are things are bound to go wrong between you.

You need to take time out to be together and, while I understand you need to work and save hard, you do need some fun in your lives as well.

You’ve already noticed that you aren’t communicating any more and more cracks will open up if you don’t start doing so soon. What’s the point in saving so hard to be in a house together if you’re not happy there?

Try and set aside time each week when you can simply be with each other and relax.

Ideally, sit down and eat a meal together while you talk, but even taking just ten minutes a day to discuss your problems and feelings could make all the difference to your relationship.
