Police investigating the murder of three Ipswich prostitutes have revealed the bodies of two more women have been found.

This afternoon a police spokesman confirmed two further bodies had been discovered near Levington.

Police said one body was found just after 3pm by a member of the public close to the Old Felixstowe Road.

Forty minutes later a second body was spotted a few hundred yards away by a police helicopter team filming the area.

Detective Chief Superintendent Stewart Gull, said: "Because of the discovery of two further bodies - close to where the body of Anneli Alderton was found - we can only fear the worst.

"The natural assumption is that these are the bodies of the two missing women, Annette Nicholls, aged 29, and Paula Clennell, aged 24.

"But until we have carried out inquiries to establish identification, this of course cannot be confirmed.

"My appeal at this stage is for anyone with any information to come forward immediately."

  • Police have appealed for the public's help in tracing the last movements of murdered Essex prostitute Anneli Alderton.

The 24-year-old was last seen on the 5.53pm train from Harwich to Colchester on Sunday, December 3.

Anneli's naked body was spotted in woodland near Nacton by a passing motorist at about 3:20pm on Sunday.
