An investigation is under way after an empty seafront bungalow went up in flames.
Squatters had recently been evicted from the chalet in Sea Glebe Way, Jaywick.
Firefighters from Clacton's White Watch were called to the resort on Friday at 6.12pm.
The origin of the fire was being treated as doubtful and scenes-of-crime officers and fire officers were investigating.
