Bookworms in a seaside resort are celebrating the opening of a ground-breaking library - at a time when mobile library services are facing the axe.
Residents formed the Friends of Jaywick Library after Essex County Council closed the facility in Golf Green Hall two years ago.
The group campaigned to set up its own service - the first of its kind in the county - and it opened this week.
