In today's Gazette: A man has been jailed for threatening his dentist with a metal pole because "he messed up his teeth".

Bryan Farrow, 36, of Turkey Cock Lane, Stanway, walked into the Halstead Dental Practice with a 3ft long scaffolding pole and demanded dentist Neil Chapple accompany him outside.

Lucy Simms, 26, was found dead in June but after two inconclusive toxicology reports, police have yet to release her body.

The officer was photographed parked in Hugh Dickson Road, Colchester, but his bosses have denied the accusation saying an investigation found the officer had acted in a "professional manner".

* A team of intrepid explorers are embarking on the world's first stand-up paddleboarding expedition - after coming up with the idea in the pub.

The ten-strong team, including Stuart Howells from Mersea, are to paddle 100km through the Sermilik fjord in Greenland - one of the most remote and extreme locations in the world.
