Four men had to be rescued after their boat capsized off the north Essex coast.
Clacton lifeguard hauled the men to safety after their boat began sinking around 200 metres off Jaywick beach at 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
Two of the men, who displayed symptoms of hypothermia, were rushed to Colchester General Hospital on the RAF Sea King, which had landed on Martello Beach.
They were accompanied by paramedics.
