WOULD-BE burglars broke into a home in Kirby Cross, but left empty handed.
Thieves forced open a window to a house near Kirby Primary School on Halstead Road between 7.30am and 4.30pm on Thursday.
They left without stealing anything. Police believed they gained access through a field behind the house.
Anyone with information should call detectives at Clacton police station on 101.
