TOP-TIPS on buying a second-hand car have been published by Trading Standards.
Officers based at Essex County Council received almost 2,700 calls last year from residents worried about a car they had bought second-hand.
Complaints ranged from false descriptions to inaccurate mileage, faulty and even dangerous vehicles.
To tackle the issue a checklist of 15 pointers to buying a car has been launched as part of the Don’t Be Taken For A Ride campaign.
