A JEWELLERS serving Colchester since 1947 is to close at the end of the month.
Closing down sales offering 50 per cent off have gone up outside Victor Hawkins, which has occupied two premises on Crouch Street for the last 66 years.
Steve Levy, owner since 1994, said a combination of falling trade, poor decisions by local councils and the continual failure to redevelop the former Odeon cinema nearby led to the decision.
