Cutting a casualty out of a smashed-up car was one of the tools used to get the drink-drive message across to motorists.
Essex's Christmas Drink-Drive Campaign was launched yesterday, in a bid to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on the county's roads because of drink-related incidents.

Fire and ambulance crews, along with police officers, stunted up an accident scene and showed onlookers how injured passengers are cut out of a crashed vehicle.
