A sports writer who sold his house to research a book has been shortlisted for a prestigious prize.
Matt Rendell, 41, of Harwich, has been shortlisted for the William Hill sports book of the year award.
His biography of the cycling legend Marco Pantani, The Death of Marco Pantani, was rated number one in the Times best sports book category and is receiving rave reviews.
Mr Rendell will be signing copies of The Death of Marco Pantani, in Harwich Old Books, 21 Market Street, on December 9, between 2pm and 3pm.
