Pub staff and bouncers have been using a radio network designed to help combat trouble, to indulge in profane banter and arrange VIP treatment for mates.
Colchester security boss Paul De-Angelis warned yesterday that genuine emergencies will end up being overlooked as the Town-Link system's airwaves become cluttered with "private chat".
Speaking at a Pub Watch meeting at the Arena Club, he spelt out a string of abuses of the valuable security asset, a tool for doormen to warn other venues of abusive or violent drinkers they have evicted.
