CAREERS advice from Essex County Council has been recognised nationally.
The authority has been given the Quality in Careers Standard for an award it offers to schools and colleges across the county.
Schools can work for a Recognition of Quality Award for their careers information which provides them with a framework, and across Essex, Southend and Thurrock 75 per cent of schools either have the award or are working towards it.
Councillor Ray Gooding, responsible for education, said: βItβs great to see during my first few weeks in this role that I am able to celebrate the success of this award. It shows Essex County Council is committed to providing young people in the county with the best chances possible for them to succeed in their chosen career.β
