A PUPIL has vowed to fight on after governors refused to allow “real” ties at a Brightlingsea school.
Max Richmond, 14, asked the Colne Community School to reconsider its uniform policy only allowing clip-on ties, as he thinks they are uncomfortable and childish.
The Gazette revealed in February how the year nine pupil had spent two days in detention for refusing to wear a clip-on tie and the school said it would review the rules.
But governors recently decided to uphold the existing policy, prompting Max to launch a survey of people's opinions.
