A SWIMMER has thanked lifeguards who rescued him from a pool and saved his life.
Jack Hurst, 18, was plucked from the water at Clacton Leisure Centre after he fell unconscious following a seizure.
Lifeguard Nicki Leaverns plunged into the pool when Jack did not return to the surface after completing a tumble turn, and got him to the side of the pool, at around 3.30pm.
Colleagues then gave first aid until paramedics arrived.
Jack, who is prone to seizures, made a full recovery and returned to the pool yesterday to praise staff who saved his life during the incident on Thursday.
