Burglars raid Greenstead home but leave empty handed

RESIDENTS are being reminded to lock doors and windows after another home in Colchester was raided.
 

Burglars entered a home in Hickory Avenue via an unlocked window on Saturday between 5.20pm and 6.20pm.
 

Electrical items were found moved onto a bed but nothing was taken.
 

Police are reminding people to always carry out a last minute check of their property when leaving it for any length of time to ensure windows and doors are closed and locked.
 

Anyone with any information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area that day, call PC Natalie King on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Instead those who entered the property took pity and left the homeowner with a new laptop!
