Polluted compost killing crops and metal detecting
METAL detector enthusiasts claim contaminated compost is preventing historic finds and damaging the environment.
Farmers are spreading their fields with green waste from households, under EU regulations.
But members of the Colchester Metal Detecting Club said the waste is polluted with household rubbish and is damaging crops.
The cause has been raised in Parliament by Colchester MP, Sir Bob Russell.
