Intruders stole a charity collection box as they ransacked a post office.
The burglars smashed their way through the front window of Mistley post office, in High Street, yesterday. They ransacked the shop section of the building and made off with a quantity of cigarettes.
They also stole a charity box, which contained money for the Essex Air Ambulance. Postmistress Frances McMillan said: "How anyone can stoop so low is beyond me."
