Colchester General Hospital kitchen refurb opened in memory of former patient
THE widow of a former patient returned to hospital to open a newly refurbished kitchen dedicated to his memory.
Last year Michael Johnson was treated at Colchester General Hospital’s Stroke Unit after suffering a stroke while undergoing chemotherapy. He died earlier this year on April 11, aged 71.
Now widow Vicki, of Canwick Grove, Colchester, has unveiled the revamped occupational therapy kitchen, used daily to help rehabilitate patients and give them a place to speak to staff about their concerns.
She was joined by her husband’s former Freemason colleagues, who put £7,494 towards the refurb, which includes a plaque.
