DISGRACED peer Lord Hanningfield ignored advice from council officers a new report claims.
Officers worked with the former county council leader in 2008 to work through issues relating to his expense and credit claims including a lack of receipts.
But a follow-up review in 2009 revealed “the issues were more serious and previous advice had not been followed”.
The claims are made in a report to the authority’s audit committee which will be discussed on Monday along with whether civil proceedings to reclaim cash from Lord Hanningfield should be launched.
