Academic discusses why we give to charity
11:14am Thursday 6th December 2012 in News By Will Lodge
A TALK is being held on why people give to charity.
Dr David Reinstein, economics lecturer at Essex University, will explain his latest research into altruism and discuss what makes people want to give to charity, looking at the idea of promising to donate future income - such as if you win the lottery will you really give to charity?
The topic is the latest in the Cafe Scientifique series and takes place at Love Bistro in The Minories, High Street, Colchester. Visitors should use the garden entrance, opposite Firstsite. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start on Wednesday December 12.
