11-year-old, with IQ of 47, fails disability test

THE ADOPTIVE mother of a boy with mental health problems said not enough is being done to help them.

Veronica Ping, 56,wants Jack, 11, to be classified as disabled so he can gain access to specialist clubs, carers and schools.

But despite having severe ADHD and an IQ of just 47, they have been repeatedly refused a social worker under Essex County Council checks.

Essex County Council said it would meet the family to discuss the issue.

Miss Ping adopted Jack from her great-niece in 1992.

His birth mother also has severe learning difficulties and was addicted to Class A drugs during pregnancy.

How could a child who is now 11 have been adopted in 1992?

You beat me to it Boris. Of course it is the Gazette, who are not famed for their accuracy of their reporting.

It seems the child / person seeking aid has a higher IQ than Gazette reporters

He's 11 and was adopted in 1992. Surely that would make him 20?
