A primary school fireworks display has been axed after "shameful freeloaders" watched the spectacle for nothing.
Hamford Primary School's Friends Association said more than 200 people stood outside to watch the show for free on Friday, and the crowd was reluctant to donate cash when helpers went around with a collection bucket.
Organisers at the Walton school were already angry that there was little support for the event. They have decided to scrap next year's show.
A spokesman said: "The decision has not been taken lightly but the committee is left with little option when there is a lack of support to help run such a large event."
