Serious crash leaves two hospitalised

TWO people are in hospital after a serious crash in Wivenhoe.

Paramedics, police and fire crews were called to Alresford Road just before 6pm last night.

The driver of a grey Seat Ibiza, a 31-year-old man from Wivenhoe, seriously damaged his back and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for emergency treatment after being cut out of the car by firefighters.

A 30-year-old male passenger was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The female passenger escaped with minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and call PC Alex Southgate at Stanway road policing unit on 101.
