From the coast of Essex to the frozen, inhospitable world of Antarctica.
Polar explorer Capt Sean Chapple, of Dovercourt, is about to set out on his quest to reach the South Pole.
If he completes the 65-day, 1,500-mile ski with his team of Royal Marines, the former Harwich School pupil will have completed the longest ski expedition in British Antarctic history.
Capt Chapple, 37, aims to have conquered both poles within a year with his Polarquest team when they reach the South Pole on Christmas Day.
