Cops hope cabbie's clue may solve rape case

DETECTIVES hope a taxi driver might have important information about a rape investigation.

A woman, aged 18, was assaulted at a home in Great Horkesley on Thursday November 15 after meeting the suspect at Missoula bar in Head Street, Colchester.

Officers now know that a man and woman were taken by taxi from the High Street, near McDonald’s, to Great Horkesley at 10.54pm and are keen to speak to the cabbie.

A 21-year-old man from the Harwich area was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of rape and bailed until January 27 pending further enquiries.

  • The taxi driver, or anyone who knows the cabbie involved, should contact detectives at the Sexual Offences Investigation team at Colchester on 101.
