Two brave pensioners who tackled a young burglar are to be honoured.
Kenley Richardson, 69, and Bertram Crewe, 74, from Alresford, are to receive a police provincial award.
The incident happened in August last year when Mr Richardson noticed there were lights on in a property owned by Mr Crewe's son. He immediately contacted Mr Crewe.
Then they both entered the house to be confronted by a burglar who punched Mr Crewe in the face. Disregarding their own safety, they forced the burglar to retreat and managed to restrain him and hold on to him until police arrived.
