Hundreds of people gathered at Harwich to see Christmas coming on the largest container ship in the world.

At 4.15pm on Saturday, onlookers standing on Harwich seafront got their first glimpse of the 397m x 57m Emma Maersk as she made its way into Felixstowe.

As the huge ship came into view around Landguard Point, the crowd got to see just how big she was. Loaded with 13,500 tonnes of goods destined for the high streets across the UK, the ship made an impressive sight for those looking from Harwich.
