The incident happened at an address in the Agate Road area between 2am and 4am on Sunday.

The woman and a female friend had enjoyed a night out in the town and were making their way home from Wahoo nightclub on Marine Parade West when they were followed by two men.

Both men are suspected of assaulting one of the women, who was badly shaken but was not injured.

The men were both white and in their early 20s. One was about about 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build and with dark hair. He was wearing a pink or red polo shirt and jeans.

The second man was about 5ft 6ins tall, also of slim build and with short dark hair and a slight moustache. He was wearing a checked shirt, possibly red or blue and blue jeans.

Anyone who saw the women being followed from the club, or anyone who can identify the men should contact officers from the North Sexual Offence Investigation Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
