SO good it's worth mentioning twice.

Our Country's Good that is, the current production by the Mercury Theatre Company which opened last week.

I know I previewed it last week but I went to see it on the first night and it is brilliant with super acting, stunning staging and a modern masterpiece of a play which is comical, tragic and moving.

It runs until November 18 so you have plenty of time to go and see it.

This week the other highlight has to be another visit from the country's self proclaimed rudest man, Roy Chubby Brown.

Yes he's loud, yes he's obnoxious and yes he's very near the mark - but the fact millions of people have been to see him and he sells truckloads of DVDs has to tell you something.

He is at Colchester's Charter Hall on Tuesday.

Musical speaking you cannot do better than Essex University these days who ever since opening their spanking brand new club, Sub Zero, have been packing them in with some of the best new bands around.

This week they've got another set of top notch acts lined-up including Canadian group, You Say Party, We Say Die on Wednesday and uber hip DJ, Trevor Nelson on Saturday.

Look out for Neighbours' Dr Karl Kennedy (yes you did read right) and the brilliant Wonder Stuff who are still to come at the Wivenhoe Park campus.
