A school has paid tribute to a 'helpful and friendly' site manager who died at the beginning of the month.

Jacqui Dollar started working at Fingringhoe Primary School more than 30 years ago, and was the longest serving member of staff.

She had been receiving treatment recently for a cancer related illness.

Suzy Ryan, headteacher, said: "She had many roles including teaching assistant, midday assistant and, more recently, site manager.

"Many pupils will remember Mrs Dollar helping them in class and around school. Mrs Dollar was even a pupil at Fingringhoe too, and older pupils remember her sharing memories of the school from those times.

"All staff have very dear memories of Jacqui as a colleague and as a friend. Her sense of humour and smile will be greatly missed.

"Our thoughts and well wishes go out to her family."

A special prayer was said for Mrs Dollar in Fingringhoe School's Remembrance Service held last week.
