Charlotte Gainsbourg headed for Independence Day sequel?
Charlotte Gainsbourg is in talks to star in Independence Day 2.
The Nymphomaniac actress is said to be in discussions to join the Fox action sequel, alongside Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Roland Emmerich will return to direct the film, while Jeff Goldblum is returning to reprise his role as David Levinson in the follow-up.
Independence Day 2 is set for release in June 2016, almost exactly 20 years since the first film starring Will Smith opened in cinemas in July 1996.
Charlotte, who has starred in several of Lars von Trier’s films – including Antichrist, Melancholia and both Nymphomaniac films – will next be seen in drama Oppenheimer Strategies opposite Dan Stevens, Richard Gere and Michael Sheen.
