HUNDREDS of visitors were treated to a fun-filled weekend at an alpaca farm.

Orchard Farm Alpaca, in Straight Road, Boxted, is opening to the public for three weeks to give people a chance to learn more about the camel-like animals.

The farm, which has 30 alpacas, including three babies - Isobella, Florence and Merlin - who were on show for the first time on Saturday and Sunday.

Vicky Simms, who runs the farm, said: “We had an absolutely fantastic weekend.

“There were hundreds of people, which was great and they all really loved it.

“We had parents say ‘you’ve entertained all our children for an hour, which is unheard of’.”

She added: “The support from everyone has been fantastic and we really appreciate it.”

The farm is open again on Saturday and Sunday and on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, between 10am and 4pm.

Entry is free.

Really sorry to have missed the Alpacas 'entertaining' everyone - I assume that one maybe played the banjo whilst the others tap-danced or did conjuring tricks !! Must have been a real blast - normally, I've only ever seen 'em walking about in their field !!!!!!!!

I am sure people like you would rather entertain children in front of the TV with a bag of Doritos!!
These animals are actually quite comical with their expressions and actions and its lovely to hear of children enjoying their company. I drive past these every day to and from work and I always slow down and have a look at what they are up to!
