RAIL services in and out of Tendring have been seriously disrupted after a person was hit by a train at Weeley.

The incident happened this lunchtime and affected services from around 1.30pm.

Train operator Greater Anglia said all lines were blocked at Weeley.

"Train services running through this station may be cancelled or delayed at short notice," said Greater Anglia.

"An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed."

A replacement bus service was put on between Colchester and Clacton.

The line was reopened by 2.40pm.
