Five unemployed youngsters embarked on a voyage to turn their job prospects by taking a maritime course.
The group, from Colchester, were chosen for the four-week Change Direction youth development programme which aims to boost self-confidence.
During a two week stay on the Isle of Wight they took part in c.v. workshops and completed qualifications such as the Royal Yachting Association Level 2 Powerboat.
As part of the course, which was funded by the Colchester Jobcentre and led by charity UKSA, they then took part in two weeks work experience with Essex companies.
