LYNN Lennard-Jones and Shauna Kelly won all their three sets for Lexden Rackets and Fitness Club A in their clash with The Essex A.

But it could not prevent their side losing 6-3 to the unbeaten Stringers World Colchester and District Tennis League Ladies Premier Division leaders.

In Division One, Lexden R & F Club B extended their winning run to five matches, beating Kirby A 9-0.

In the same division, Lexden Hill B also won 9-0 against a Frinton B side in serious trouble of relegation.

Spring Lane A had an excellent 7-2 victory over Lexden R & F Club C in Division Two but remain behind the Officers' Club A, who defeated the Essex C 7-2.

Lexden R & F Club's D team went top in Division Three following their tight 5-4 win against Spring Lane B while a 7-2 victory for the Officers' Club B over Dedham B saw them go top of Division Four by one point from The Essex E.

Spring Lane A's hopes of remaining in the Men's Premier Division took a big dent when they went down 7-2 to Dedham A.

Wivenhoe A must now be favourites to gain promotion to the top division after a close 5-4 victory at closest rivals, Lexden R & F Club A and then winning 6-3 at Spring Lane B.

Kirby A are looking the strongest side in Division Two following a 8-1 victory against previously unbeaten Officers' Club C.

Frinton B remain top after a 5-4 win against Dedham B but have played more matches.

Wivenhoe B are top of Division Three, undefeated after four matches but the relegation battle could be very tight with Spring Lane C winning 5-4 against West Mersea A but then going down 6-3 to Lexden Hill B.

In Division Four, Lexden R & F Club B seem certain of promotion after defeating the Officers' Club D 9-0 and in Division Five, the David Lloyd Club are looking strong with a 8-1 defeat of Frinton D.

The Essex A continue their domination of the Mixed Premier Division, defeating Dedham A 9-0 but Frinton A could be a threat after beating The Essex B 8-1.

Kirby A's 6-3 win against Wivenhoe A in Division One was their first victory of the season.

In Division Two, Dedham B won 5-4 against Lexden R & F Club B with Rob Boyd and Hilary Cairns in top form.

Frinton B are top following a 8-1 victory against The Essex C while The Officers's Club B moved above Kirby B in Division Three after beating them 7-2.

Lexden Hill B beat Spring Lane C 8-1 for their first of the season while unbeaten Lexden Hill C won by the same scoreline in Division Four against Kirby C.

The David Lloyd Club made it five out of five victories in Division Five after beating Wivenhoe C, 6-3.
