Connor Wickham could be heading to Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports.

The Barclays Premier League side are rumoured to have tabled £5 million for the highly-rated former Colchester schoolboy.

They want to sign the 17-year-old striker this summer, with a view to loaning him back to the Blues for the 2010/11 campaign.

Wickham has exploded on to the scene this season, scoring goals against Scunthorpe, Derby, Doncaster and Newcastle.

It seemed rumours about his future with Ipswich had been put to bed, after he signed a two-year contract with the club on April 3.

But his stunning finish to the season, including three goals in his last five games, has raised fresh doubts about his long-term future.

On Friday, Town manager Roy Keane refused to disclose whether the Blues had received an offer for the England under-17 international.
