BRAINTREE TOWN were beaten 1-0 at struggling Weymouth, in Vanarama National League South.

The hosts grabbed their winner with eight minutes to go through former Iron player Dan Matsuzaka, who poked the ball into the net during a goalmouth scramble.

Braintree had a penalty appeal rejected midway through the first half when Kyron Farrell appeared to be blatantly hauled down in the area.

Farrell also saw his shot strike the woodwork before half-time but chances for the Iron were few and far between.

In Pitching In Isthmian League Premier, BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT were beaten 3-1 at Felixstowe Invicta.

Samuel Jeremiah put the R's ahead in the first half, before the hosts recovered in the second half to win.

 

In division north, MALDON AND TIPTREE claimed a resounding 4-0 victory at East Thurrock United.

It was an away day to remember for the Jammers, after first-half goals from Laste Dombaxe, Roman Campbell, Sam Coombes and Scott Kemp secured two successive wins.

 

HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS are sixth after a convincing 4-1 win over Hullbridge Sports.

Goals from Ross Wall (2), Darren Phillips and Ben Sartain were all on target for Steve Tilson's side in the victory.

WITHAM TOWN lost 3-0 at Bury Town.

In the FA Vase second round, LITTLE OAKLEY were beaten 2-0 at Romford.

HALSTEAD TOWN won 2-0 at Southend Manor, in the Essex Senior League.

The Humbugs took a first-half lead through Tom White, who calmly finished from 25 yards after a poor clearance by the home keeper.

And Halstead wrapped up their win when Older nodded in Jordan Blackwell's cross, in the second half.

STANWAY ROVERS beat Buckhurst Hill 2-0.

In Thurlow Nunn League division south, WIVENHOE TOWN lost 4-2 at home to Newbury Forest.

Six first-half goals and then two reds in the second half saw the Dragons lose at the M.E.C Stadium, with Tom Ashworth and Tyler Kemp on target.

STANWAY PEGASUS lost 3-1 at home to St Margaretsbury.

In division north, HARWICH AND PARKESTON drew 3-3 at Norwich CBS while HOLLAND FC lost 3-1 at Holbeach United.
